Extract the right pages, rather than the printed labels
Imagine a 12-page report with a cover, contents page and an appendix. To send physical PDF pages 3, 4, 5 and 9, choose Extract pages and enter 3-5, 9. The result is one 4-page PDF. The numbers refer to positions in the PDF starting at 1, not the page numbers printed in the report. If printed page 1 starts after two front-matter pages, it is PDF page 3.
What this tool actually does
Ranges are inclusive. Duplicate selections are removed and pages are returned in ascending document order: 9, 3-5, 3 still produces pages 3, 4, 5 and 9, not a custom sequence. A reversed range such as 5-3 selects pages 3 through 5. Use Split into single pages to create a separate PDF for every page; each result has its own Download button. This tool does not create a ZIP archive.
Check the result before sharing
Before sharing, open the extracted file and confirm both its page count and the first and last selected pages. Extracting pages is not a secure redaction process: selected pages can still contain sensitive text, annotations or images. Keep the original report until you have checked the result. Copying pages into a new PDF does not guarantee preservation of interactive forms, document bookmarks, attachments or valid digital signatures.
When the result does not meet your needs
An out-of-range error means at least one requested position exceeds the document's page count or is below 1. Use positive whole numbers, commas and hyphens, such as 1-3, 5; decimals and text are rejected. If the document cannot be read, check it in a PDF viewer and obtain an unlocked, non-corrupted copy. For a large scan on a phone, extract a small range first to reduce memory pressure.
